You’ve probably seen this recipe before. I got it from a teacher friend a few years ago. It’s great to serve at breakfast when you’re feeding a large group.
Ingredients:
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 large block of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powered sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla (halved)
1 egg, separated
Roll out one can of crescent rolls (pinching the pieces to form one large area) on a greased cookie sheet. Mix together granulated sugar, one egg yoke, cream cheese, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Spread the mixture on top of the crescent roll. Place the other crescent roll on top. Use a fork to stir the egg white and brush the top of the danish with the egg white. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Glaze – mix together powdered sugar, milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Drizzle on top of the warm danish. (Yes, you can forgo the galze, but why?)
